About the place: Splitska is a small bay on the Island of Brač (opposite to Split on the mainland). A former fishermen’s village, the place is today dominated by villas and weekend houses of higher-class Croatian society (several famous Croatian medical doctors, writers, journalists, businessmen and generals have their home here). Since there are no hotels in Splitska, the place is never crowded and packed with tourists, even in the peak tourist season. Splitska is located in a quiet environment in the heart of a large Mediterranean pine forest. It is just 2 km away from Postire and some 7 km from Supetar, island’s biggest place and the ferry harbour. The ferry service from Split to Supetar (and vice-versa) operates every hour and the journey takes some 50 minutes. Supetar has its own hospital, post office and the bank (cash machines are available, too). There is also a cinema and disco-club and the theatre performances are quite common during summer months, too. Here you can also rent-a-car, bike, and moped or boat or simply enjoy in one of numerous restaurants or cafés (some have the Internet facility). From Supetar it takes you only some 10 minutes of car drive through the pleasant pine forest along the coast to reach our house.

About the house: The house is situated in the neighbourhood called Punta. It is just 150 m from the sea. From the house it takes you less than 10 minutes walking to reach the supermarket, bakery, newspaper kiosk, or one of the only two charming local cafés and restaurants. Most of time, rented is only the upper floor. This has its own entrance from the garden and consists of 3 rooms, 2 bathrooms and a big kitchen with dining facilities. All rooms are faced to the seaside. Two rooms have the access to the big common balcony, viewing the forest and the sea. One of these is 2-bed and the other is 3-bed room. The third room has 3-bed. The upper floor is ideal for 2 families or three young couples without children. The ground floor can be rented, too- but only in combination with the upper floor (the same group has to rent the whole house). The ground floor has own entrance and consists of a large living room with a kitchen, two rooms with two beds each, a large bathroom and a storage place. The house has been built few years ago and is furnished with new furniture. It has a parking facility and a 600 square meters garden planted with nice Mediterranean plants (lemons, grapefruits, tangerines, figs, olives, grapes, palms, etc.). The garden can be used for barbecuing or in the case the whole house is rented- also for sitting (there is a table with bench & chairs under an old olive tree). Although the kitchen has a fridge with deep freezer, the guests can also use the basement as additional food supply storage.
